We would like people to try out lots of different varieties of seed potato in February so we are having a seed potato festival. There will be wide range available throughout the month. We would like to encourage people to get away from Pembrokeshire earlies like Rocket, and become more adventurous.

There are many old fashioned varieties from the 1920’s and 30’s which have gone out of favour because you don’t get the yield but you get the taste!

Winston, Ulster Sceptre, Ulster Classic, Lord Rosebery, a lovely red potato. We are stocking over 70 varieties. Once the more unusual ones are sold we will be back to about 20 varieties. Hopefully once gardeners realise how delicious these varieties can be they will be even more adventurous next year.
